The goal of the NEBULA project is the investigation of cutting edge technologies in the emerging field of photonic neuromorphic engineering, and provide a clear roadmap in the realization of an ultra-fast parallel photonic neuromimetic processor. Furthermore, through the combination of advanced training techniques and reservoir computing schemes with laser neurons, we aim to provide an alternative photonic computational paradigm that will surpass conventional schemes in terms of efficiency and speed, in tasks like patterns identification, optical routing, sensory data processing and RF cognitive management.
